This kit is designed to work underneath a lip of a tailgate or hatch. You will need roughly 1 behind the lip to route the wiring. The minimum mounting surface required is 54 millimeters wide by 28 millimeters deep. It is recommended to mount the camera at least 24 from the ground and as close to the centerline of the vehicle as possible. The distance between mounting holes is 36 millimeters
